Sale of Prepaid Cards in Freely Convertible Currency

With amounts of 1000, 500, 200, 100 and 50, prepaid cards are available in the network of CADECA offices, Airports, Hotels and Ports.

For travelers residing abroad, they will be purchased with the currencies listed by the entity: Canadian dollar, pound sterling, Swiss franc, Japanese yen, Mexican peso and euro. Its use is exclusive for the national territory with a validity period of two years and they are not personalized cards.

Valid for the payment of goods and services in the commercial network such as: hotel reservations, excursions, purchases in stores, purchase of airline tickets, car rental, restaurant and cafeteria services, among others.

To operate on any network, you need to enter your PIN, the customer being the only person who knows your code. If you want to withdraw cash in national currency, you can go to an ATM or visit any CADECA to withdraw cash through the Point of Sale Terminal (POS) known as POS, in addition, if you wish to check the balance of your card, you can do so at the ATMs or go to any branch of Banco de Crédito y Comercio (BANDEC) to be informed of the amount of balance on your prepaid card.

Once your stay in the country is over and you still have a balance, it is reimbursed at MLC, or if you wish to take the card with you for your next visit that is within two years of expiration of the card, you can also do so, In the same way, if you want to leave it to a family member to use it, it is also valid.

In case of loss, deterioration or omission of the PIN, the customer can go to any CADECA office with the proof of purchase and a new card will be delivered with the existing balance on the previous one and a new PIN.
